The Ministry for the Environment has produced a guide to section 32 of the RMA as a result of changes made by the Resource Management Amendment Act 2013.
This guidance builds on and replaces the section 32 guidance that was previously available on the Quality Planning website.
This guidance is specifically targeted at practitioners and decision makers carrying out s32 evaluations for new local authority plans, policy statements, and plan changes. It provides:
- an explanation of the changes to s32 as a result of the Resource Management Amendment Act 2013
- a good practice step-by-step process for carrying out a s32 evaluation
- information about evaluation tools and methods
- answers to some key questions and challenges.
