Accessing documents
Most information on this website is provided as standard web pages (HTML format). For some documents, a PDF version may also be provided as an alternative option. To open and print PDF files you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is available free from the Adobe website.
Some documents provided as PDF only
Some documents are only available electronically as PDF documents, which may make it difficult for some people to access them.
This includes older documents, documents which are not owned by the Ministry for the Environment and documents over which the Ministry has no editorial control. In particular, we make electronic copies of journal articles and documents produced by our QP partners available to increase the ease with which you can find and access useful information.
For documents not owned by the Ministry for the Environment, alternative access options (such as print) may be available by contacting the publisher (normally be listed with the relevant link). Journals may be available in your library.
For other documents, please email our webmaster to discuss alternative access options. Please include details of the document you want to access and the difficulty you are having.
Information held on external websites
When linking to information on other websites we endeavour to link to standard web pages. If this is not possible we may link directly to a PDF or Word document. These links will include the document format and file size in the link text.
